Upgrading a Pilot Professional

Opening up the old Pilot Professional was pretty easy to be honest, and once you're in you can see exactly what's going on.

The older memory module came out very simply indeed. I'm always worried about these older devices and stuff getting brittle inside and being unrepairable, but this removal was actually very easy.

Here's the older chip and the inside of the device itself. As you can see it had been built to be entirely upgradable. Not something you see very often now is it?

And putting in the newer chip was simple too. It fitted into the slot simply.

And clicked into place without anything breaking at all!

So, finally, the new cover comes on, complete with it's little infrared window too.
